Joseph Roberts

Prof. Joseph Roberts earned his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in Entrepreneurship. He is the Coleman Foundation Professor of Arts Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management studies at Columbia College Chicago. He is also the President of USA Inc. a financial consulting services company serving clients in the Chicago land area since 1987.
Robert has been the driving force behind several community based entrepreneurship outreach programs throughout the Chicago land area. He has designed and implemented several entrepreneurship training programs and worked with numerous startup businesses and entrepreneurs. He has published books and written several papers and refereed articles discussing entrepreneurship and economic issues. He won the 2003 Telly and the Aegis awards for a documentary on entrepreneurship called "Entrepreneurship then & now."
Session 1: The Loan Application Process (Applications will be accepted)
This session will address how loan applications are prepared. What the basic elements of credit are, what bankers look for in a loan application, how to package this info, and how to convert a business plan into a loan application. At the end of the session those who are interested will be able to apply for a loan by completing an application.
