Paula Frasz "is a choreographer to watch" announced Sid Smith in the Chicago Tribune. "Frasz" knows how to sculpt an original, moving drama." he declares. Tribune critic Lucia Mauro call her, "?a standout." Her many achievements include: Mordine & Company featured dancer and featured dancer at the Lyric Opera of Chicago. Her choreography has been commissioned by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Elgin Symphony Orchestra and the Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra. She is one of the founding choreographer's of Chicago's Next Dance Festival, whose work has been called "powerfully modern" by Lynne Voedisch of the Chicago Sun Times. Frasz received the 1999 Ruth Page Award for Artistic Achievement in Choreography from the Chicago Dance Coalition, and the 2002 Artists Fellowship for Choreographic Excellence from the Illinois Arts Council, and has served several terms on the Illinois Arts Council Dance Panel. Ms. Frasz, an active and vital member of Chicago's dance community, also serves the Chicago Dance And Music Alliance and is a member of Actor's Equity Association. She is currently Co-Artistic Director of DanceLoop Chicago, a new, not-for-profit professional modern dance company in Chicago, IL, which, in its first year of operation performed nearly 100 dance productions and produced two successful benefits. Ms. Frasz holds a B.A. and M.A. in dance from Butler University and an M.F.A. from the University of Illinois in Champaign/Urbana.

Dmitri Peskov is a dance panelist with the Illinois Arts Council and a Co-Artistic Director of DanceLoop Chicago. Peskov performed with DanceLoop Chicago, The Chicago Ballet, Chicago Festival Ballet, Salt Creek Ballet and Borealis Theatre and is a Principal dancer with the West Suburban Symphony Orchestra. He is the recipient of an Illinois Arts Grant for his production of SPECTRUM DANCES:EMERGING AND ESTABLISHED VOICES, an annual mentoring project between Chicago choreographers culminating in a two-weekend performance. His choreography has been presented at Harper College, Beloit College, College of DuPage, and Northern Illinois University as well as at Dance Chicago, Spectrum Dances and Choreography Now Festivals. He has recently set a new work on Cerqua/Rivera Art Experience in Chicago, on Natalia Shirokov Dance Theatre and Timofeeva Dance Centre in Moscow, Russia, where he also assisted American director Paul Kindlon in the Russian Premier of John Guares play THE HOUSE OF BLUE LEAVES.

Session 1: Working with Dance

An hour long look at how dancers, choreographers, visual artists, videographers, graphic designers, photographers all can work in the field of dance. Presentation will include discussion of all of the above and their value to dance productions, marketing, audience development and the creative dance process.

Session 2: DanceLoop Chicago

Artistic Directors Paula Frasz and Dmitri Peskov talk about the process of starting and maintaining a dance company, getting dances produced, holding auditions, finding collaborators, applying for grants, and basically surviving in the dance community in Chicago.
